biography

I was born in Sydney in 1979.

I first found my passion for art sitting next to my Nan and Mother as a young child while they painted landscapes in watercolour.

During high school I found my interest in Marc Chagall, Klee and Brett Whiteley. I got into collage in a big way, creating many a detailed art diary. At highschool my friends and I hung out in the art room in our lunch breaks. My final year artwork made it onto the short list for Art Express 1996, the annual state-wide exhibition.

After high school I went on to study Visual Communication (Design) at the University of Western Sydney (1997-1999). There I studied publications (print and web) and photo illustration, but illustration was my Major.

During University (and also following) I worked in collaboration with hospitals, creating a more welcoming environment for patients. I worked on murals at the Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney, and artworks for the Blacktown and Nepean Hospitals.

In 2000 I held a solo exhibition at a local gallery and in 2002 enjoyed working as web designer at a radio station in Sydney.

I have volunteered on short student films, on which I designed and sourced props. I love the idea of portraying characters in film through the objects they collect / live with.

Another passion of mine is to create interiors and I have worked in this industry for over 7 years.

In 2002 I studied Visual Merchandising at Ultimo TAFE in Sydney. I am currently working as a Visual Merchandiser for a company which sells furniture, homewares and bed linen.

I now live in Perth in Western Australia.
